APR 16
Cape Coast Slave Castle & Kakum National Park
Explore Cape Coast Castle - just a 3-hour drive from Accra sits the point of no return for enslaved Africans bound for the Americans and the Caribbean. The day concludes with a visit to Kakum National Park - rich in butterflies and birds, and also has a bended canopy walkway 100 feet above the ground.

9am - 6pm

APR 17
Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park
11am - 1pm
We will be gathering for a family photo at one of Accra’s most significant monuments, the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. Dr. Nkrumah, Ghana’s first president, who led the country to its independence, passionately believed in building solidarity between the African continent and her diaspora – a perfect reflection of the beauty of our union.
+233 Jazz Bar & Grill
7pm - 11pm
We will cap the night at Ghana's premier live jazz and music club!

A travel entry visa is required for all visitors. A hard-copy of the visa application, your original passport, 2 passport-size photos, a travel itinerary, along with receipts for the application fee and return postage must be mailed to the Embassy of Ghana in Washington, D.C.

Proof of yellow fever vaccination is required. Search for a local yellow fever vaccine clinic using the link below.
*If you previously received the yellow fever vaccine, you don't need to be vaccinated again as long as you have proof of immunization.
Side note: While not mandatory, we recommend obtaining a prescription for malarone to prevent the possible contraction of malaria.

TRANSPORTATION
Getting Around
Uber!
Please note: Make sure your Uber app is defaulting to pay in cash instead of cards.
Yango
The local version of Uber/Lyft. Search for the app in your smartphone's app store or download it here.
Taxis
Taxis are everywhere in Accra. You can recognize them by the yellow color on each side. Taxis tend to be a little more expensive than Uber. If you opt to take a taxi, make sure you have negotiated the price before getting in.
Trotros
Trotros are privately owned minibus share taxis that travel fixed routes - leaving when filled to capacity (~11 people). This will be the cheapest way to get around Accra. More info can be found here.
